It's a beautiful day...

We finally have had a couple days of nice weather, and the ground is no longer soaking wet, so I took the kids to the park today after church for some pics. usually, it is like pulling teeth to get them to stand still for more than 3 seconds, but today, they did such a fantastic job! I was tired of taking pics before they were tired of having them taken. If you know me at all, that is simply unheard of! I am so happy with how they turned out. I can't wait to print them and add them to the pile of pics that are waiting patiently to be scrapped! lol

I've been completely exhausted this week. Those second graders are keeping me hopping, but I am totally loving it! I think I would like it a little more if my own kids would give me a break after school though! Right now, Emily is involved with running club 2 days a week, piano one day a week, Caleb has had something for baseball 4 days this week now, and I have had softball coach's meetings. And Chris is umping, so he's working usually while I'm carting the kids around. I really hope something gives soon! But then summer will be here, and I'll be wishing we had something to do because the kids were bored! LOL I guess you just can't make me happy!

I cleaned all Friday night and yesterday just trying to get the house back in shape so we can have a running start for this week. Right now, stuff is clean and all the laundry is done. Anyone want to take bets on how long it will last? I'm going for about 3 more hours! At least now that the weather is cooperating a little more, the kids can go outside to play!

Anyway, enjoy the pics!

Like it was just yesterday....

I finally got to see Chrissy today, and that's how it felt... like it was just yesterday that we last hung out, instead of 8 years ago! I guess we are lucky enough to have one of those rare friendships that are so special that time and distance can't lessen the bond. She is just so awesome, she hasn't changed a bit, she's the same fabulous person she was before. She got to meet the kids too. They just adore her of course! They couldn't get enough of her, and there are only about a million things Caleb still wants to tell her. Hopefully, she'll be moving to the area in the not too distant future! That would just make life complete! lol

Here's a pic of us today...

And one of us 12 years ago!

He's too FAT, and he has allergies.

I don't know WHO you just pictured in your mind, but that's horrible! Shame on you ALL! I'm not talking about HIM, I'm talking about Hershey! hehe Yep, Hershey is on a diet, he has to lose 10 pounds or so. Oh yeah, and he's getting fixed. So funny, we were trying to explain to the kids what that means exactly, and they weren't getting it. So finally, Chris says, "They have to cut his stuff off, you know (in a whisper) his balls." And then they got it. Well, last night, I'm tucking Noah in, and he is saying his prayers and HE says,"And please help Hershey get better fast when they have to chop his balls off. Oh, Mom, I don't say that at school." I'm sitting there trying not to die laughing. Maybe we should have explained it a little differently!

So while we were at the vet getting all of his shots up to date, we asked why he's been chewing on his front paws, and the doc says he has allergies. If he starts chewing them again, we have to start giving him Benadryl. Oh great, now our dog is going to start costing us MORE money! At least he's cute. Here he is trying to fit through the kitty door at my dad's house!

Easter and stuff

Well, we had a nice Easter... except that it snowed at my dad's house. A LOT. And Chris was sick. A LOT. In fact, we got home Monday afternoon, and spent the evening at the hospital. Pneumonia and sinusitis. He was couching so badly that he actually burst blood vessels in his left ear. It was pretty bad, but he's on antibiotics now, and feeling MUCH better!

It was really nice to see my brother and his family. We didn't get to see them much when we were in the same state, so it was a real treat for us to have them drive up all the way from North Carolina. I said before it was South Carolina, but I was wrong. Mark that in your calendars, because that may be the only time you hear me say those 3 words! = )

We did a lot of fun stuff. I don't really have the time or inclination to detail everything, but you can take a look at the pics for an idea!

Bursting with great news!!!

So I had no idea at all that this was going on, but I was chosen as the SNC Design Team member of the month. Check it out... http://scrapncircle.blogspot.com/ I am SOOOOO excited! And all the fab friends I have on the DT there have said such nice things about me. And I didn't even have to PAY them! And to think some of you still think I don't have any friends! lol

And Emily, you'll never believe what that amazing little girl has been up to! First of all, she totally kicked butt at the Science Olympiad a couple weeks ago. She entered three events, and won two first places ribbons, and one second place ribbon. How awesome is that. We couldn't be more proud of her. And she's beautiful to boot! Look!

And then yesterday, we get this letter in the mail!

Dear Emily,

Congratulations! The design you submitted for the 2007 All-County Bookmark Contest has won in your grade category. Your certificate of recognition and copies of your bookmark will be presented to you at the Awards Presentation... Additional copies of your winning bookmark design will be available After April 21 at all participating libraries.

How FREAKING awesome is that??? Her design was chosen out of the thousands of designs submitted by the kids in every school in the county! I am so geeked, and of course we'll be there at the ceremony. And yes, I'll take pics!
